Embodied Movement · Newcastle CBD
Space to be you. To move, breathe and connect – with awareness.
We are grounded in curiosity. Tune into your own experience through movement, breath and sensation.
It’s easy to get caught up in trying to achieve the pose, instead of experiencing it.
Curious Yoga starts somewhere different – an invitation to listen to the sensations you experience, allowing a practice that at its essence gives us moments of presence and focus.
We can dial down the noise that’s so dominant in our lives right now. We can come home to ourselves and be present in our human experience in the world.
By blending vinyasa yoga with embodied movements, we bring connection and nourishment to ourselves.
There is no ideal pose or way to be. There is just your body, your breath, in each shifting moment – and discovering what becomes possible when you allow yourself to notice.
“The goal isn’t to feel better. It’s to get better at feeling.” (Gabór Maté) – being able to move and breathe in a truly authentic way – in the moment.
Studio97city – where we practice. A shared creative and wellbeing hub where artists, innovators and wellness professionals come together to collaborate and work. An intimate, gallery-style open floor: light, inspiring, and unlike anywhere else you’ll practice in Newcastle. Moving here just feels different.
All classes are free for our first month. Spots are capped at 12 per class – book your spot below to secure your place. After the launch month, classes move to regular pricing. Bring a friend, grab a coffee after – make a morning of it.
“I have always felt most fully myself through movement.”
I’ve come full circle in my journey so far with movement. A childhood steeped in ballet – the training, the dedication, the eventual burnout – sent me down many other paths. Years of creative pursuits, raising children, and travelling the world. And yet, many years on, I found myself still drawn back to the same thing: expression through the body.
Yoga has carried me through the shifting terrain of chronic illness and kept me anchored through it all. It’s what led me here – wanting to share this way of moving, but with a creative, embodied twist that’s entirely my own.
I have always felt most fully myself through movement. It’s how I express, explore and discover who I am. My hope is that you find that same quality of connection – to yourself, and to whatever it is that reveals itself each time you return to your mat. To nourish. To stay curious. To feel alive.
These classes meet you wherever you are. Tired, stiff, distracted, unsure – it doesn’t matter. All that’s asked is a willingness to show up and be open. Whatever you bring into the room, you’re welcome here.
Embodied yoga provides all the same physical and mental benefits as traditional yoga, but without the formality or rigidity. If you have practised yoga but had questions about it, this will be the place for you.
